I read a letter today from a couple getting ready to move back overseas. They talk about their "nightmares." He's stuck in a London airport and can't find his family. She's trying too feed 200 guests and can't find the supermarket. They've lost one of their kids. They end with "You've maybe been at this point in your life too."
This week is countdown mode. The checklist is getting longer. The piles on the bed in the front guestroom are getting deeper. Did I say checklist? How about check LISTS.
One on the bathroom counter, one in the packing room, one on the kitchen island, one on the computer.
This is the week when we'll find lots happens we didn't plan. In fact, this is the week when it feel's like everything is going to fall apart. Hang on. This is the week to start the day with the Lord and recognize that we need to rest in Him.
No sermons. Just a gentle reminder that the whole team is facing the same pressures, and God knows all about them. Pray, lean hard on the Lord, and keep plugging.
Oh, yes, and make lists.
